hella (adj.) - ‘very ’ in northern californian

Hella Good Company is a multi-disciplinary collective comprised of designers, photographers, artists, dj’s, musicians, writers, and community organizers based out of Sacramento, CA. Founded in 2017 with roots as early as 2013/14ish, its goal has always been to activate community in terms of both people and space and highlighting the positive energies of both, giving a safe space both physically and mentally to a shared like-minded community to be seen and celebrated.

When creating this mark and branding, the goal was to convey an organic sense of uplifting welcomeness. The curves and flow of this identity is also meant to represent familiarity, ease, and comfort of interaction. HGC is also a complex and layered entity, so that is also achieved with the repetition and warmness of the linework and color palette.

One of the largest projects the collective collaborated on with Uppercloud Media was FUTURSCAPE 2045 - an immersive imagination of a dystopian future, activating a vacant former Urban Outfitters in Sacramento, CA. Below is the original pitch deck, recap video, in-event program, and a few spare stock images and promo material.

In 2018/19, Hella Good Company was invited to activate Sol Blume Festival, 2018 to curate an afterparty with Noodles, and 2019 to create an art activation and photo opportunity. Above is the original pitch deck, below are the results with artist interviews conducted featuring artists such as Paris Alexa and Jess Connelly.
