for dad, but also for everyone

Baba’s House is an immersive, multipurpose community & gathering space location in the Central Artery district of Oakland, California. It serves as a representation and celebration of the Asian American diaspora and the experience of growing up Asian American in the Bay Area. The space hosts a plethora of numerous types of events highlighting art, music, food, and drink both local and abroad.

The original branding was created by friend & fellow designer Kishanti Orozco as well as many other friends of the community. The logotype, color palette, typefaces and cat illustrations came with this project, but for the last few years yours truly has had the pleasure and honor of taking those components and bringing them to the next stages. Some highlights of this ever-evolving project involve designing and implementing a new upstairs floor in collaboration with Storm Cloud Press, creating 2024 year of the Dragon Mahjong inspired hats with the help of 13GALLONS, plus many more fun bits & bobs that make this one of the most fulfilling passion projects one could hope to have.
